Does my heir need to do anything now?

No. They only act if the lamp goes dark. Give them the link to your lighthouse so they know where to look.

Can my heir take the BOT while I am still around?

No. The claim only opens after the lamp has been unlit for the whole period you chose. Every action you take as keeper relights it.

What if I come back after it goes dark?

If your heir has not claimed yet, you can relight the lamp, take your BOT out or change the heir. Once they claim, it is closed for good.

Is there a fee?

No. Lighthouse has no fee, no token and no owner. You only pay gas for your own transactions.
